Wendy Potter here, president of the Alumni Association. Clive Soden continues to volunteer his time to the design and maintainance of this website. We all know how fortunate we are to have grown up in Laguna Beach. We all especially love the way Laguna was back in the 50's, 60's and 70's - the best times of our lives. Getting together every year and hearing all the stories are what make the picnic so special. Along with getting together every year, it is also the Alumni Associations time to make money for scholarships for the graduating class. Over the previous 5 years that I have been in charge we have given $20,000. The reason we are able to do this is because of your donations at the picnic and online to our Paypal account.
Every year we receive at least 20 letters from graduating seniors who are direct descendants of many of us. Each year I enjoy getting to read those letters, and I wish we could give money to every single applicant. But we only have so much money every year. I'm asking you again to please donate even if you are not able to attend the picnic. The yearly dues are $20 and, of course, you may donate more if you so choose. Every year we start back at zero because I give all money to scholarships. Your most recent donations have helped the graduating class of 2017!
If you are able to make the picnic I look forward to seeing you! Please be sure to join the Alumni Association each year.
Also, I'm looking for someone to take over my seat. If you or anyone you know who would like to be president and take over the reins it would greatly be appreciated. Please contact me.
Warmest Regards, Wendy Potter, Class of 78'
The all-class picnic and reunion for all Laguna Beach High alumni had another good turnout May 5th, 2018 at Heisler Park, 375 Cliff Drive, Laguna Beach. Plan on attending next year's picnic on the first Saturday in May. The event is usually held from 11 am to 3 pm.

According to Wikipedia, the high school nickname was originally the Breakers. But after only 19 months, civic pride with Laguna's art community culminated in a student body vote on June 4, 1936 to change the name to "Artists." In 2003, the student body voted to return to the "Breakers" nickname.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals. We provide scholarship funds for students of Laguna Beach High School.
